Statesboro Market2Go:  Happy Thanksgiving!

Market2Go is closed this week for Thanksgiving and will return Friday, November 29th at 10pm.

Saturday (11/23) is the LAST Saturday market of the season. Join us for one final Saturday market to stock up on your favorites and show some love to the vendors who’ve worked hard all season long.

And don’t forget, Shopping by Lantern Light is happening Tuesday, November 26th! Shop for your Thanksgiving dinner ingredients, sides, and desserts from 5:30pm to 830pm. Enjoy coffee and hot chocolate while you browse or grab a bite from one of the food trucks. Bring your Christmas list along because we’ll have lots of vendors with gift items so you can start your holiday shopping early!

Need a sweet snack while you are waiting on your turkey to cook? Try Sweetbird’s fresh berry gushers and her version of the viral Dubai chocolate bar! They are something sweet to share or maybe a gift for your holiday hosts! RCM has great gift boxes, amazing handmade cards and unique live plants in addition to all these local foods! Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This farmers market allows you to preorder directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, your order may NOT be complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

I hope you will all have a chance to get a little bit of rest and enjoy some time with loved ones. The market will be closed for Thanksgiving, but this pause always gives me a chance to thank everyone for being part of this community and participating in the local food movement.

As you know, I am a firm believer in how small, local actions make big, global change. And I am passionate about local food because we all eat, everyday! So each bite is a chance for us to make an impact in our community and the world.

You might think I am exaggerating, but let me tell you about just a few ways in which your participation makes a difference. When you buy local food:

-you are benefiting your body by giving it fresh, nutrient rich fuel, that was grown for taste and nutritional quality, rather than to maximize the time it can stay on the shelf.
-you are contributing to the local economy, creating new jobs, supporting fair wages, and helping dollars stay in our community.
-you are supporting small, sustainable agriculture, and cutting down on all the resources needed to package, warehouse, transport and display food.
-you are getting to know people, building interpersonal relationships, making our community more resilient and, let’s face it, having fun!

So I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to all: the farmers who grow our food, the customers who support the market, the volunteers who help things run smoothly, the church that hosts us, and everyone else who, in big and small ways, make Conway Locally Grown not just a market, but a community.

This is a pickup reminder for those of you who ordered this week.

If you ordered milk WITHOUT deposit, don’t forget to bring your RINSED bottles (no caps needed) thanks :)

You can pick up your order starting at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 925 Mitchell Street in Conway. You are welcome to come in and sit down in the lobby if you are early, but we may not be able to check you out until 3pm.

If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick it up for you.

Remember to bring your reusable market bags. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon!
